How to Qualify for Inc 5000
To appear on the Inc. 5000 list, a company must be a U.S.-based, privately owned, for-profit, and independent business (i.e., not a subsidiary). You must have generated revenue early in the evaluation period—typically by the end of March of Year One—and demonstrated strong growth over the next three years. Specifically, companies have to report at least $100,000 in revenue in the first year and grow to a minimum of $2 million by the final year. The ranking itself is based on percentage growth from Year One to Year Four. Finally, those figures must be formally verified—either through audited statements, signed documentation from a qualified professional, or tax filings—to ensure the numbers are precise and trustworthy.
